Dave, is a middle aged college professor of the local community college, who lives in the scenic town of Tolkeinland. Tolkeinland being comprised of a smaller populace, ensures the community stays much interconnected. 

Recently, there has been an increase in violent crimes in the community due to Ralfo, a new drug lord in the neighboring city.

One evening while travelling back to his home, Dave finds Ralfo's car wrecked by the road with him crawling by the roadside. The path is always empty at this time. He is the only one who could help.

Stein is a college freshman at his local community college. He is a native american and a first generation college goer from his family. His father has a bad temperament which makes life harder for his mother and only sister. Their family income often does not cover Stein's college tuition. He has to work at the local bar where the salary is meagre.

Stein has received an email that he's been shortlisted for his desired program at his dream college on the other side of the country, with full scholarship as a transfer student. Him going away, however, will strain his family's non-existent income and jeopardise the life of his mother and sister.

Two Swiss-Turkish parents from Lausanne, Switzerland of Muslim faith caused a provocative international stir 7 years ago. They have two young daughters who attend a public school in Basel. This school conducts swimming lessons for all the students, but mandates that girls and boys swim together and compete with each other in these lessons. The parents refused to send their daughters to mixed swimming lessons on the grounds “that their religious beliefs prohibited them from allowing their children to take part.” After failing at domestic level, the parents filed a case against the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). A panel of seven judges found in favour of Switzerland stating that goals of integration between students of different sexes that schools pursue override goals of religious autonomy that parents want to pursue. 

Ross is a seventeen year old teenager who lives in downtown New York. His family has been going through tumultuous times due to the chronic illness of his mother who requires much tending to from Ross. His father is overworked in the two jobs he handles as a labourer. Ross has recently been largely underperforming in his class and his teacher has been misunderstanding the cause of his underperformance.

His teacher has recently given him the ultimatum that should he get any less than full marks in the final examinations, he will be failed and detained. His only hope now is to speak to his teacher personally to explain to her his family conditions. But should he share such details and should they reach his classmates, he's sure to face humiliation, catcalling and ridicule. His teacher is known to discuss such delicate matters publicly with other fellow teachers and students. His teacher isn't restrictive of bullying in their class. Their school is very lax on the issue of bullying.
